Our Transportation Coalition
Presa Community Center provides transportation services for those who are unable to drive or use public transportation. Our coalition makes over 20,000 one way trips annually through an outstanding partnership with five other nonprofit agencies: St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, the Kirby Senior Center, Southwest Outreach for Older People (SWOOP), the Alamo Area Recource Center (AARC), and the Greater Randolph Area Service Program (GRASP).
Older Adults and persons with disabilities can use this service to attend doctors’ appointments, shop for groceries, visit loved ones, or do other things to maintain a great quality of life. This program is very popular and the demand continues to grow. Our mission in providing rides is to help people maintain their independence.
We have a dedicated line for registration and reservations: 210-532-5554. Reservations should be booked at least two weeks in advance, or as soon as patients have the date and time of their next doctor’s appointment, as the program is in great demand and fills up quickly. Older adults over 60 years of age and individuals with disabilities are eligible to use the service.
Presa also provides weekly group trips for grocery shopping to 22 senior apartment complexes around San Antonio.
Rides are available Monday thru Friday, except for major holidays.
The charge is $5 per trip/ $10 round trip.
